Club F1

2018 sees something completely new added to the race calendar: Formula One! Once again, Lee has been busy with the paint and decals, and – using some old generic single-seater Scalextric cars he picked up on eBay – he has created a grid of six cars based on some of the liveries raced in the 1989 season. This is another Club class, so all cars are provided by the club. The Club F1 grid consists of the following cars:

#1 – Ayrton Senna – McLaren
#3 – Jonathan Palmer – Tyrrell
#5 – Thierry Boutsen – Williams
#11 – Nelson Piquet – Lotus
#20 – Johnny Herbert – Benetton
#27 = Nigel Mansell – Ferrari

Race Format

Each race consists of a two minute qualifying session to decide grid positions, followed by an eight minute race. No pace cars are used. Each entrant will complete one race with each car/controller, so will contest a total of six races. Points will be awarded for each position, and will be based on the scoring system in use during the 1989 season:

1st: 9 points
2nd: 6 points
3rd: 4 points
4th: 3 points
5th: 2 points
6th: 1 point
